The story of Theresa Leatherbury, ’06, and Windy Deese, ‘08, speaks to the heart of our mission. Theresa is President of the Rachuba Group, a property management company and serves on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Multi-Housing Association (MMHA) which aspired to be part of the solution to the issue of homelessness. Windy works with the United Way of Central Maryland, putting families on the path to stability and self-sufficiency.
Having met at an alumni event, Theresa and Windy brokered a partnership between the MMHA and the UWCM to house homeless individuals and families. Through this partnership, over 50 homeless families have been provided with shelter.
