Public Safety: Meet Baltimore County’s New Fire and Police Chiefs

Did you love Public Safety Day during your LBC class? Maybe you went to the Police Training Facility or maybe you suited up in fire gear at the Fire Academy. Remember how eye-opening the police ride-along was?

Since your class, there have been big changes in Baltimore County’s public safety departments. Join Leadership Baltimore County for an insightful look at public safety in Baltimore County with the county’s Police Chief Melissa Hyatt and Fire Chief Joanne Rund.

You won’t want to miss the opportunity to talk one-on-one with the County’s public safety leaders about the challenges the county faces. Only with LBC do you have this kind of access to both chiefs at once!

Both Hyatt and Rund were appointed by County Executive John Olszewski Jr., LBC ’10. With Hyatt’s appointment, all of Baltimore County’s public safety agencies are led by women. The county’s Department of Corrections is led by Gail Watts, LBC ’17 and the county’s 911 Communications Center is led by Chief Tammy Price.

The event is free for alumni members and $20 for non-members.
