LBC is pleased to announce new members joining the Board of Directors. The Board elected Danielle Ford, Rebecca Greenberg, Ed Joffe, Steve Jones and Dawn Witherspoon in the fall. They will attend their first board meeting January 2025. We are thrilled to include this talented and thoughtful group of leaders on our board.
Danielle Ford, LBC ’23, takes a vision and makes it reality through sound strategy development and execution. She intuitively sees the threads of opportunity that wind through an organization, brings them together into a coherent whole, helps others extend their thinking, and drives material business advantage. She is an inspirational leader who tells stories that inspire action while at the same time is grounded in process and project execution that transforms people and the business. Respected as a credible voice in decision making, finding strategic partners, and meeting compliance and regulatory boundaries, Danielle earns a seat at the table wherever she serves.
Currently, as Director of Regional Operations and Support at BGE, an Exelon Company, Danielle oversea the efficient and effective operations, including resource management and operation efficiency of electric distribution’s financial operations and metrics, new business development, and green power connections.
Danielle holds a master’s from Towson University, bachelor’s from Lynchburg College, and a CPLP. She serves on other Advisory Boards including Women’s Cycling, an organization that brings together women to experience, share, and express their love of cycling.
Rebecca Greenberg, LBC ’23, serves as the Vice President of Strategy & Performance at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst), one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit healthcare organizations. She reports to Jim Leleszi, the Executive Vice President of the Enterprise Product & Specialty Division. Her division includes Third Party Administrator (TPA) Operations, Technology and Finance, Performance Analytics, Broker Administration, and Strategy & Business Engineering. Rebecca is responsible for the overall performance of the TPA, the execution of strategic project deliverables, and Commercial client-facing reporting and analytics.
Rebecca joined CareFirst in 2010 as a Financial Analyst supporting the Large Group business unit. Throughout her tenure at CareFirst, she has held roles that supported Commercial sales strategy, broker relations and administration, distribution channel compensation strategy, and client reporting at various levels.
Before joining CareFirst, Rebecca worked at Citi Retail Services (now known as One Main Financial) in compliance and pricing financial analyst roles. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University Maryland.
Edward “Ed” Joffe, LBC ’24, is a Division Vice President with The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Active in several construction industry and community organizations, he has held numerous board and advisory committee positions. Ed earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University and his MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. In addition to enjoying cooking and outdoor activities, including fishing, skiing and traveling, Ed also treasures the time he spends with his wife and three boys, particularly coaching youth sports.
Steve Jones, Uniquely qualified senior HR professional with experience in all traditional HR functions in a variety of industries and environments including public/private sector organizations. Focused on developing, implementing and maintaining people processes to create or sustain a competitive advantage and enable the organization to reach its overall business objectives. Experience and success developing the appropriate human capital operations & strategies to support organization goals and priorities.
Currently the CHRO at Towson University, a public university (University System of Maryland) just north of Baltimore with >23,000 students, employing over 4000 staff and faculty.
•Unique blend, breadth and depth of experience with employees at all organization levels in sales, manufacturing, distribution, service and public sector environments including multi-site responsibilities.
•Experience with union and union-free environments including successful contract negotiation and labor relations with FOP, IBT, UNITE/ACTWU, and UFCWU.
•Experience working as a key business partner in senior roles developing strategic plans, providing functional excellence and managing organizational change for as many as 5200 employees in 4 states and 2 foreign countries including new plant start-ups, plant closings and merger/acquisitions.
•Successfully designed and implemented alternative compensation and benefit programs that were cost effective and met the individual needs of employees.
•Demonstrated effective leadership, interpersonal, communication, analytical, team building, presentation and problem solving skills.
•Earned and maintain the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certifications.
•Current adjunct instructor at Towson University
Dawn Witherspoon, LBC ’24, Human Resources Leader with 20+ years of hands-on progressive HR and strategic operations experience in the for-profit, health-care and non-profit industries with over 10 years of management experience. Significant experience with multi-site organizations. Strong emotional intelligence and effective problem solving, analytical and project management skills. Proficient at strategic planning with the ability to manage and improve processes and effect and manage change. Strong employee relations skill. Expert at creating, implementing and managing on-boarding/off-boarding programs, recruitment and retention programs, and supervisory and employee training programs. Expert at handling complex employee relations and workplace investigations. Proficient at creating employee handbooks, recognition programs, human resources policies and new hire orientation programs. Strong communication, interpersonal relations, mentoring, negotiation and organizational skills.
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management.
Current member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Chesapeake Human Resource Association (CHRA).
